On 26 October, SOILL will host the second webinar in its Soil Hour for Living Labs series, bringing practical knowledge, experiences and insights from European soil initiatives to Living Labs and Lighthouses across Europe.
This edition will focus on nature-based solutions in agricultural and urban environments, exploring how innovative practices are being implemented, what lessons are emerging and how collaboration can contribute to healthier soils.
Insights from European soil initiatives
Three initiatives will share their experiences and approaches to nature-based solutions:
- LandShift will introduce relevant project activities and findings, highlighting practical examples and potential synergies with Mission Soil Living Labs;
- Soilcrates Living Lab Ireland will share experiences with legumes, living mulch, intercropping, multispecies swards and fertiliser reduction, including emerging observations from its first growing season;
- Urban Living Lab Luxembourg will showcase an urban nature-based solution, highlighting its co-creation process, practical implementation and key lessons learned.
Following the presentations, a dedicated conversation with Soilcrates Living Lab Ireland and Urban Living Lab Luxembourg will bring together perspectives from agricultural and urban contexts. The discussion will explore the solutions being implemented, lessons learned and challenges encountered, while drawing on insights from LandShift to identify shared opportunities and strengthen connections between European soil initiatives.

The webinar will conclude with an interactive Q&A session, giving participants the opportunity to exchange ideas, ask questions and explore opportunities for mutual learning and collaboration.
