SoilWise

SoilWise aims to make accessible the scattered and heterogeneous soil data and knowledge in Europe to support informed decision-making and the Soil Health Law. The project’s focus is on making these resources FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) and fostering trust and willingness to share and reuse such valuable information. Through collaborative efforts involving stakeholders, SoilWise intends to streamline existing workflows and repositories, enhancing their discoverability and interconnection.

How we collaborate with SoilWise

  • Capacity Building & Technical Training: Scaling up joint training sessions for Living Labs and Lighthouses to provide practical, hands-on guidance on implementing FAIR principles, managing data, and preparing and uploading data and knowledge into the SoilWise Catalogue. Training may address Mission Soil Living Labs, EU living labs and/or emerging initiatives.
  • Data Exchange: Facilitating a data integration of SoilWise data within the SOILL Knowledge Hub to ensure Living Labs and Lighthouses can easily navigate and use existing European soil data.
  • Feedback Loop for Data Usability: Leveraging insights from Living Labs and Lighthouses regarding the usability and functionality of the SoilWise catalogue to ensure the tool is practical, user-friendly, and specifically tailored to the needs of the soil community.
  • Joint Dissemination & Visibility: Co-promoting SOILL Stepup and SoilWise project milestones and success stories through shared communication channels and events, to increase the reach and visibility of both projects.
