CETENMA

The SOILL project collaborates with the Centro Tecnológico de la Energía y del Medio Ambiente (CETENMA), a strategic technological partner focused on sustainability, the circular economy, and the energy transition, but also specifically on the Soil Health. CETENMA promotes the management and restoration of soils as living ecosystems through advanced research and development, comprehensive diagnostic studies, and robust analytical capabilities. By integrating sustainable technologies and standardised monitoring frameworks aligned with the European LUCAS program and the Soil Monitoring Directive, CETENMA provides critical expertise in evaluating soil health status, developing remediation and renaturalization strategies, and testing new sustainable fertilisers. This partnership leverages CETENMA’s capacity to offer advanced technological solutions tailored to industrial decarbonization and modern environmental challenges.

A central component of this synergy is the shared focus on co-creating actionable soil health solutions using Living Lab methodologies, such as CETENMA's Living Lab GREENNOMED. This collaborative approach was highlighted during CETENMA's participation in the SOILL-Startup Thematic Engagement Event, “Organic Agriculture and Agroecology: Partnering with Living Labs to Improve Soil Health,” held in Brussels, Belgium, on June 4, 2025. By combining the SOILL project's overarching mission with CETENMA’s practical experience in demonstrating, validating, and selecting sustainable land management approaches, the synergy actively supports the development of effective strategies to monitor ecosystems, recover nutrients, and reverse soil sealing.
