SOILL-Startup at "From Soil to Food": Promoting Sustainable Soil Health in Tuscany

On 5 December, World Soil Day, SOILL-Startup will be represented at the event "From Soil to Food: Dialogues for an Integrated Approach to Sustainability, hosted by Anci Toscana at the Altana of Palazzo Strozzi in Florence.  

Sergio Pellegrini, researcher at CREA – Consiglio per la Ricerca in Agricoltura e l’Analisi dell’Economia Agraria, will be there to speak about SOILL-Startup and its activities. CREA is a SOILL-Startup's partner, and Sergio will spotlight the project's mission and share insights into the services SOILL-Startup offers, particularly its role in supporting the HuMUS project and fostering collaboration within the local community in Tuscany.  

The event will bring together experts, institutions, and citizens to explore the vital connection between soil and food, focusing on European, national, and regional policies. Discussions will center on innovative strategies and sustainable practices aimed at safeguarding soil, ensuring food security, and promoting environmentally harmonious development models.  

Afternoon Highlight

The HuMUS pilot site in Calenzano will host a side event featuring soil-health demonstration workshops, organized by the Università degli Studi di Firenze in collaboration with local stakeholders.
